Gaza Caps a Century of Terrorism, War Crimes, and Nationalism

Apr 2024
08

7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Meyer Auditorium, Hotchkiss Hall

Hosted by the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Department of Politics and the Mojekwu Fund.

Summary provided by presenter Rami Khouri: "The century-long, increasingly ferocious confrontation between Zionism and Palestinian Arabism, like most nationalist clashes, has witnessed terrorism, war crimes, aggression, reprisals, resistance, self-defense, pre-emptive militarism, and other dynamics of war. Such self-serving militarism always seeks to delegitimize the enemy; it has reached a point today where it may also weaken rule-of-law and international justice systems that offer nation-states stability, and also their very meaning."
