Assistant Professor of Chinese Ying Wu explores the ways in which western and Chinese pop culture have changed and influenced each other in her talk, “East Wind or West Wind? How Popular Culture Changes China in the 21st Century,” at the History Center Lake Forest–Lake Bluff.
From reality shows to "boy" bands, pop stars to talk shows, Professor Wu will share how Chinese culture has adopted and adapted western models, while creating a uniquely popular (counter) culture all its own.
This is a 2020 Lake Forest Reads: Ragdale event.
