Department Assistant - Lillard Science Center

Lake Forest College seeks a full-time department assistant (12-month position) to provide administrative support in the Lillard Science Center.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day office administration and support to include but not limited to, greeting visitors, scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, copies, work orders, etc. 
  • Processing reimbursements
  • Planning meetings and special events
  • Gathering data
  • Filing and data management
  • Updating the website

 Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree
  • 2-3 years of administrative experience
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, plus an aptitude and willingness to learn new software and systems
  • Ability to track budgets and expenses
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Willingness to take initiative and follow through on projects
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with students, staff and faculty from diverse backgrounds

 Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous experience working in a college setting
  • Experience with project management

Pay Rate: $18-22/hour
