Accessibility Services Specialist
Lake Forest College seeks applications for an Accessibility Services Specialist to assist with coordinating services for those needing accommodations on campus. This is a part-time, 12-month position (25 hours per week).
Responsibilities Include
- Process accommodation requests for housing, meal plan, parking, ESA/Services Animals, and academic needs.
- Ongoing management and direct support of student caseload, records, and qualifying services.
- Communicate the accommodation decisions to students, faculty, and campus stakeholders.
- Participate in regular meetings with the Director/Associate Director, CAS, Accessibility Support Team, and other campus committees as necessary.
- Provide assistance with accommodation needs as it pertains to the Testing Center.
- Advocate for the college’s neurodivergent and disabled population in our community.
Qualifications
- Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in a disability-related field
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong collaboration and advocacy skills
- Preferred Job Qualifications
- Experience in higher education disability services.
- Experience in K-12 setting working with students with disability needs.
