Professors will know you by name, and you will learn in a rigorous academic environment in small class settings.  We offer up to $32,000 a year in merit-based scholarship for transfer students.

Scholarship and Grant Opportunities for CLC Students

Kevin D. Gorter Scholarship

The Kevin D. Gorter Scholarship Award is designed to support academically excellent graduates from the College of Lake County who have significant financial need beyond scholarships and grants provided through the College. Six scholarships are awarded each year.

This scholarship is awarded in addition to all other Lake Forest aid. The scholarship totals $5,000 each year for two years for a total of $10,000. Combined with other grants and scholarships awarded, the average out-of-pocket cost of tuition and fees at Lake Forest College for a Gorter Scholar last year was $1,142.00.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes transfer students who hold current membership in Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society of two-year colleges.

Scholarship Qualifications and Amount

Scholarships are offered at the time of admission, and may not be added after you have begun your enrollment. Scholarships are valued at $28,000 per year. Students who have a GPA of 3.75 and above will receive $30,000.

College of Lake County Honors Program Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes transfer students from CLC who are members of their institution's honors program.

Scholarship Amount
Scholarships are offered at the time of admission, and may not be added after you have begun your enrollment. Scholarships are valued at $2,000 per year and are stackable on top of the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship or Presidential Scholarship.

CLC Scholars Full-Tuition Scholarship

The Lake Forest Transfer Scholarship is available exclusively to CLC Scholar Program students. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2022.

Forester Flagship Program

Our Forester Flagship Program provides qualified in-state transfer students with 100% of the College’s tuition covered in grants and scholarships.

Eligibility Requirements:

Students who qualify for the Forester Flagship program will need to meet the following criteria:

  • You’re eligible for the Federal Pell Grant

  • You submit your FAFSA before the State-established deadline for MAP Grant consideration. 

  • You’re a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

  • You’re an Illinois resident (parents listed on the FAFSA are also Illinois residents)

  • You must live on-campus for the entirety of your college career

Visit Grant

Transfer students applying for Spring 2022 and Fall 2022 who take part in a virtual visit or visit campus will receive our $2,000 annual visit grant towards their cost of attendance at the College.
