Chicago's Latinx History: Why It Matters Today

Join us to discuss Chicago's Latinx History and its importance with Dr. Lilia Fernández, Professor of History at University of Illinois Chicago and author of Brown in the Windy City: Mexicans and Puerto Ricans in Postwar Chicago.

Dr. Fernández specializes in the history of Latinos/as/x in the mid-to-late 20th century United States. Her research interests lie at the intersection of urban history, labor and working-class politics, and economic inequality. This event is the first in a series on Latinx History during the Spring 2023 semester.
