Chicago's Latinx History: Why It Matters Today
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Join us to discuss Chicago's Latinx History and its importance with Dr. Lilia Fernández, Professor of History at University of Illinois Chicago and author of Brown in the Windy City: Mexicans and Puerto Ricans in Postwar Chicago.
Dr. Fernández specializes in the history of Latinos/as/x in the mid-to-late 20th century United States. Her research interests lie at the intersection of urban history, labor and working-class politics, and economic inequality. This event is the first in a series on Latinx History during the Spring 2023 semester.
