Make a skills inventory.

When a specific job or industry isn’t driving your career plan, then, it’s best to look inward first. Take the Skills Assessment on Focus2 to learn how you might connect your skills to a career.

Explore trends and norms in a variety of industries.

If you want to work in a variety of industries, then, you must develop a basic understanding for what drives their success. What’s their work culture? What skills will you use? How intense is the competition?

Use Lake Forest College’s subscription to Vault.com for articles and downloadable books. 

Vault is best known nationally for its influential rankings, ratings, and reviews on thousands of top employers and hundreds of internship programs.
