Raven Dziedzinski '23, a double major in finance and politics with a minor in Spanish, studied abroad at the Universidad de Almería in Spain.

Hi, I’m Raven Dziedzinski, a junior at LFC and I studied at the University of Almería in Spain last semester. I spent the semester meeting people from all around the world and learning Spanish culture. I met so many amazing people who I am planning on staying in touch with and potentially going to visit.

In my last note I talked about wanting to travel a little more and I was able to do that in May. I went to Germany where I met up with some of my LFC soccer teammates Aarti and Hannah. We met up in Dortmund and then were able to travel to Cologne for a day to see the city there. This was one of my favorite trips because I was able to experience Europe with some of my LFC friends. After not seeing any of my LFC friends for a few months it was very refreshing.

After living in Spain for four months I learned a lot of different things and got to experience a lot of different things. One of my favorite things that I was able to do in Spain was going kayaking and snorkeling in the Mediterranean. I was fortunate enough to do this twice and I am very grateful for that. I couldn’t believe how clear the water was. My second time snorkeling I went with a few of my friends and we were able to see an octopus in the water. That was such a cool experience.

I am very thankful for the Ingrid H. and George L. Speros Scholarship for supporting my study abroad adventure! This scholarship has allowed me to experience so many things that I’ve never imagined.
