Study Abroad and Domestic Study Away

Hola, from Sevilla, Spain! For the past two, I have been taking part in the Spanish Studies Abroad fall semester program in Sevilla! I have been taking all of my classes here in Spanish, ranging from grammar to sociology to international business in the European Union. In my free time I have been exploring Sevilla as well as traveling throughout the rest of Spain and other countries in Europe. I can't believe that I only have a month left, but I am so grateful for the experiences I have had, the friends I have made, and the improvement in my Spanish language abilities over this semester.   

Most recently I travelled to Munich and Stuttgart, Germany, as well as Salzburg, Austria! During this trip I was able to visit the Mercedes-Benz museum, Fortress Hohensalzburg, the Glockenspiel in Munich, and also the Dachau concentration camp memorial. Overall this was a very memorable and enjoyable trip full of great views and lots of history. The Dachau memorial was a very educational and grounding experience that I will never forget. I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to broaden my horizons and deepen my knowledge of the atrocities that occurred during the holocaust and WWII. 

When the semester ends it is going to be very difficult to leave, but this will be a memory that time can not erase! I am so happy to say that I will be coming back to the US with significantly improved Spanish skills as well as a deeper perspective in foreign cultures.

I would also like to take this time to thank the donors of Ingrid H. and George L. Speros Scholarship who have significantly helped to make this possible for this experience have been a gift that I cannot be thankful enough for!
