Aidan Horn '25, an education and history double major, is studying abroad at the University of Roehampton in England.

Hello everyone! My name is Aidan Horn and I have had the wonderful experience of studying abroad in London!

This experience has been so helpful in so many ways. I have learned a totally new perspective on independence. Going from driving a car every day to using public transit was a big shift, however I have learned how to navigate the city and with this, discovered a new sense of freedom and a very real understanding of the word patience.

I was fortunate enough to join a Lacrosse Men’s League which helped keep my skills intact and meet another great group of guys for a casual Saturday game. I also have had the opportunity to explore different parts of Europe such as Athens, Rome, and Amsterdam which have all been very enriching visits. Seeing some of the places where modern democracy was created and established left me absolutely speechless. Exploring different countries has been an amazing experience and exploring the city of London has been a blast. Seeing all the beautiful architecture from times older than the United States mesh with the designs of modernity has been such a treat. Exploring these new lands with a great group of peers created some amazing memories.

I have also met some amazing people during my time abroad. The relationships that I made while studying in London are some that I will bring back home with me. I would also like to thank G. Dale Smith and Ruth Peterson Smith Endowed Scholarship Fund for the ability to help me make studying abroad a reality.
