Mercedes Badia-Tavas
Mercedes Badia-Tavas is a Partner with the Chicago office of Barnes & Thornburg. With more than 700 attorneys and other legal professionals, Barnes & Thornburg is one of the largest law firms in the country. Ms. Badia-Tavas’ practice centers on immigration law for businesses, with a focus on immigration employment transfers and compliance. She was acknowledged as a Notable Chicago Minority Lawyer by Crain's Chicago Business and has been included in The Best Lawyers in America from 2016 to present. She is a board member and past chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Chicago Chapter.
Ms. Badia-Tavas was born in Cuba and has traveled, worked and studied throughout Latin America. She received her B.A. from Agnes Scott College and her Juris Doctorate from Tulane University. Ms. Badia-Tavas resides in Chicago with her husband and two children.
