Slate CRM Administrator

Lake Forest College is seeking a Slate CRM Administrator who will be responsible for administering, configuring, and supporting the College’s customer relationship management (CRM) systems, with a primary focus on Slate. This position works closely with functional offices to understand requirements, optimize business processes, and fully leverage the capabilities of the CRM to advance the College’s strategic goals. The Slate CRM Administrator designs and implements workflows, automations, reports, and integrations that support institutional operations, enhance user experiences, and improve data-driven decision making.

Slate Administration

  •  Administer and maintain the College’s Slate CRM environments, including user management, permissions, and system configurations.
  • Design, build, test, and deploy workflows, forms, queries, portals, communication plans, reports, and other Slate deliverables to meet departmental and institutional objectives.
  • Coordinate and support system enhancements, software upgrades, and new feature rollouts, including user acceptance testing in collaboration with functional offices and ITS.
  • Provide high-quality, timely application support, including troubleshooting data or workflow issues, resolving errors, and ensuring the Slate operates reliably and securely.
  • Develop and maintain clear technical documentation and diagrams describing Slate configurations, process automations, data flows, and integrations.
  • Create and maintain end-user knowledge base articles, training materials, and reference documentation; deliver training or support sessions to functional users as needed.
  • Build queries, ad-hoc reports, and dashboards within Slate or related data tools to support decision-making and operational needs, based on analysis or specifications provided by stakeholders.

 System Analysis & Process Improvement

  •  Consult with campus stakeholders to gather information about business needs, objectives, key functions, performance expectations and data requirements with Slate.
  • Identify and recommend ways to leverage Slate’s full capabilities to improve business processes, address challenges, and reduce inefficiencies across functional areas.
  • Analyze current workflows and design new processes within Slate that promote operational efficiency, data quality, and strategic advantage.
  • Provide analysis for new Slate modules, features, or third-party integrations, ensuring a complete review of the technology against current and evolving business practices. Guide stakeholders in selecting the most appropriate solutions and overseeing effective implementation.

 General Duties

  •  Learn new technologies, and continually develop knowledge of existing technologies and systems, in preparation for changing needs of our business systems.
  • Maintain a high degree of professional computing competence, as evidenced by continuing professional education, participation in professional meetings, and interactions with peers and users.
  • Update and maintain information in the ticketing system, and prepare status, activity, and project updates and reports, as requested.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with education specific CRM systems, particularly Slate.
  • Experience in building and maintaining reports in tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with end users to assess needs, define and document technical requirements/specifications, and propose technical solutions that add value to the business process, department, or organization.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and results-oriented, with a high level of internal motivation and the ability to define and execute projects independently.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with ability to understand both the “big picture” and the details and be able to accurately and clearly communicate the relation between both.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels and build productive and collaborative working relationships.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Strong technical aptitude with the ability to configure and customize CRM systems and integrations.
  • Familiarity with the academic and business processes of higher education and the inter-relationships between departments, data, and systems.
  • Professional project management and IT certification or training.

Salary and Benefits 

Salary: $75,000 – $80,000
