Department Assistant (Part Time)
Lake Forest College seeks a part-time department assistant to provide administrative support to faculty in an academic building on campus.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day office administration and support to include but not limited to, greeting visitors, scheduling meetings, ordering supplies, etc.
- Updating the website
- Processing reimbursements
- Planning meetings and special events
- Gathering data
- Filing and data management
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Associate’s degree
- Proven administrative experience.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, plus an aptitude and willingness to learn new software and systems.
- Ability to track budgets and expenses.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to take initiative and follow through on projects.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with students, staff and faculty from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with project management.
- Comfortable handling confidential information
There are three positions available during the academic year (late-August to mid-May with time off for holidays and College breaks):
- 30 hours per week in Brown Hall
- 20 hours per week in Buchannan Hall
- 20 hours per week in the Office of Academic Affairs
Salary & Benefits
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
