The Coalition Against Sexual Misconduct has functioned as a group of faculty, staff, and students that are appointed to assess campus climate regarding sexual misconduct, identify areas of need, and offer initiatives and programs that support the prevention of sexual violence and harassment. The purpose and function of this group is currently under review, however, please see some of the iniatives and programs the group has held in the past.

The Coalition has worked in the past to:

  • Ensure that the College upholds the expectations of relevant state and federal laws, including but not limited to: publishing a comprehensive policy, following resolution procedures as outlined, offering training and education, and reporting data.
  • In collaboration with the Title IX office, assess campus climate regarding sexual misconduct, analyze the results, and share information with the campus community.
  • Assess campus needs for training, programs, and services; collaborate and provide feedback on the implementation of initiatives and programs that meet the educational goals of the committee.
  • Invite a campus-wide or regional task force - including members of local law enforcement, campus administration, the advocacy community, and students – to convene with the Coalition twice a year to share information and bolster collaboration.

The Coalition has hosted the following annual events:

  • Forester FRIES Day  (August)
  • Safe Spring Break Event  (March)
  • Sexual Assault Awareness Month Resource Fair  (April)
  • Intervene - Bystander Intervention training  (Throughout the year)
