In Dialogue With Thomas Nozkowski

October 2012

The exhibit features work by Thomas Nozkowski, on loan from the Pace Gallery in NYC, as well as  Chicago based painters Michelle Bolinger (adjunct art faculty member) Anna Kunz and Michelle Wasson. Each artist was inspired by Thomas Nozkowski, best known for his abstract paintings that encompass both hard-edged shapes and organic forms.

Nozkowski takes information from myriad visual experiences and stimuli and repositions elements that sit both elegantly and precariously on the surface of the paintings and works on paper. The work explores color and shape as elements that hover between abstraction and representation.
