Development Operations Officer

Lake Forest College invites applications for the position of Development Operations Officer in the Office of Advancement. This role provides essential support to the Office of Advancement and donors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily gift processing activities for the Office of Advancement. This can include using various giving platforms and Slate for gift entry, receipts, and donor acknowledgement production.
  • Manage constituent data and demographic updates in the College’s donor data base.
  • Oversee collection and opening of mail and lockbox to ensure timely processing of all gifts to the College.
  • Partner with the College’s Business Office and facilitate transfer of gift documents in support of college processes.
  • Ensure that all pledges and gifts are processed and recorded accurately and acknowledged on a timely basis.
  • As necessary, research and evaluate all gift-related documents and data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Stay up to date on legal or other related changes impacting charitable donations and make recommendations for improvement and compliance.
  • Periodically review and update gift entry policies and procedures and ensure they are aligned with organizational gift acceptance policy and applicable laws.
  • Serve as the functional manager of Slate gift entry procedures, liaise with internal and external CRM support providers, College ITS department and Technologies to test new functionality and upgrades to Slate as well as data security and integrity measures.
  • Document processes, develop procedure manual, and provide support and training to staff on an ongoing basis to ensure the functionality of the College’s donor data base is being maximized.
  • Help develop and update Slate-hosted applications, queries, and forms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Background in gift processing and work with CRMs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, advanced Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Data management, including security and integrity, experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and strong initiative to identify problems and propose solutions independently.
  • Solid relationship building and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sensitivity to needs of donors and able to manage confidential information discreetly.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: $50,000-$55,000
