Assistant Director of Donor Engagement
The Assistant Director of Donor Engagement works collaboratively with, and reports directly to, the Associate Director of Donor Engagement in managing and implementing a successful donor stewardship program for Lake Forest College. The Assistant Director of Donor Engagement coordinates and manages projects within the donor stewardship program that share gratitude and deepen engagement, including personalized gift acknowledgement, stewardship mailings and events.
Job Responsibilities
- In coordination with the Associate Director of Donor Engagement, the Assistant Director will help execute the College’s donor stewardship strategy.
- Manage and execute elements of the College’s Giving Society – the Forester Society – including welcome mailings and the annual calendar mailing. Provide planning and execution support for Forester Society events.
- Assist with drafting personalized acknowledgement letters.
- Assist with Scholarship stewardship, including the Scholarship Profile process, Scholarship Recipient Dinner and other scholarship-related activities.
- Manage and execute stewardship mailings including holiday cards, thank you cards and personalized stewardship gifts.
- Provide event support, including planning and execution, for Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, Family Weekend, other lectures and events.
- Manage a team of student workers to help assist with engagement activities.
- Assist with drafting and editing of donor stewardship communications as needed.
- Support Office of Advancement events as needed.
- Ensure that all donor touchpoints are delivered with excellence, professionalism and kindness, and adhere to the College’s values of accountability, engagement, intellectual inquiry and curiosity.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and one year of experience in fundraising or event management. Must possess strong writing, communication and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a variety of college partners. Preference for candidates with experience using Slate CRM or similar. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and capable of using other standard Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $57,000 - $62,000
