Iran: The Bloody Uprising of 2026

Lake Forest College Professor Ahmad Sadri, a prominent voice globally on the politics of the Islamic Republic, will share his thoughts on the causes and likely consequences of violent anti-government protests, which has resulted in the deaths of many thousands of citizens.
Born and raised in Iran before to the Islamic revolution in 1978-79, Professor Sadri earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Teheran. He holds a Ph.D. from The New School for Social Research, in New York City. Over a decade ago, he was placed under house arrest and interrogated daily for weeks at Iran's infamous Evan Prison in Teheran.
