Business Support Assistant
Lake Forest College is seeking a Business Support Assistant for the Facilities Management department.
This is a year-round, part-time, in-office position, working 20 hours per week.
Work hours are 9:00am – 1:00pm daily with some flexibility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Financial Support (primary responsibility):
- Assist with creating requisitions, purchase orders, invoice processing and basic data entry using accounting software
- Researching historical payments and resolving discrepancies
- Professionally communicates with third-party vendors via phone, email or vendor portals
- Tracking expenses and maintaining organized files
- Performing physical office tasks including lifting small boxes, filing, scanning and emailing documents
- Additional Duties: Function as a back-up to the Assistant Director with student employee coordination and participate in meetings.
- Special Projects: Provide support for fundraisers and other Department initiatives, as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior business experience is a plus.
- An associate degree or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel (moderate level), Outlook, and Teams. An aptitude and willingness to learn new computer-related skills.
- Ability to research and track budgets and expenses.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Willingness to take initiative and follow through on projects.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with vendors, students, staff, and faculty, as necessary.
Salary and Benefits:
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.
