My life before Lake Forest

Prior to Lake Forest, I explored the nonprofit sector through an internship at Waukegan to College. This experience developed my interest in higher education and college access.

One word or phrase to describe myself

Attentive

Top three reasons I would choose to attend Lake Forest College:

  1. Educational/Career Exploration Opportunities: Here at Lake Forest, even as a First Year, students have access to a variety of opportunities to explore different careers. From research with professors to internships in the Chicagoland area, there are always beneficial experiences available.
  2. Location: The surrounding community is full of lots of beautiful nature with a unique downtown area. The city of Chicago is also only a train ride away.
  3. The Professors: The relationship you build with your professors and the rigor of the academic courses is something I valued during my time here as a student. It feels good knowing I have professors that I can reach out to even after graduating.

What character traits do I appreciate in an applicant?

I appreciate when an applicant is able to communicate with me about themselves in a genuine way. I want to know about you, what you really like, and how I can help.

What makes the College unique?

The community. You really develop lifelong relationships and connections here with students, professors, and other staff/faculty.

Tip for the college search

Take your time to think and make a list of what you want/need out of your college experience. Use that list to guide you as you research schools and learn what they have to offer.

Hint for success

Don't be afraid to work hard and put in the effort in whatever you do. Reach for the stars and if you don't grab them, at least you'll fall on top of the world.

Favorite activity in Chicago

Exploring new food spots downtown, as well as all over the surrounding Chicago area.

Favorite place in the town of Lake Forest

The beach. I've always enjoyed walking over and taking a break on the rocks near the water.

Fun fact to share

I've always spoken two languages. I'm now trying to learn a new language and wow it is hard!
