Why did you choose Lake Forest College?

I chose LFC as it offered a close connection with peers, professors and mentors  which would allow me to network and fully engage in my academics as well as any internships.

What attracted you to the Neuroscience major?

I was always interested in the behavior of the body and a lot of that has to do with understanding the biology and behavior of the brain.

What are your career goals and how did Lake Forest College helping you arrive at and achieve these goals?

LFC, through their HPP program, enabled me to complete the prerequisites required for the PA program as well as connecting me to the necessary classes that would instill the skills in me to work with patients from various backgrounds, genders, and ethnicities.

What are one or more distinctive experiences in your major that make it stand out?

The College requires a Keystone project for graduation and that can be some experience you have had in your career field. This opportunity connected me to several clinics and hospitals that let my communication and medical skills mature. Another experience that made my time at LFC stand out was the Richter’s Scholars' Program where I worked in a chemistry lab with Dr. Cody. Although it wasn’t directly related to my major, it gave me an insight on how research is conducted and how thorough one must be to be able to replicate and advance experimental procedures.

What advice would you give to a high school student looking to pursue neuroscience and is considering Lake Forest College?

LFC is home to diversity and equality, where excellence is valued and promoted. This college ensures that you excel in your area of interest and fully prepares you for life beyond the academic world.
