Dr. Kim Davis (she/her/hers) is the inaugural Associate Vice President for Community, Advocacy, Resources, and Empowerment (CARE) at Lake Forest College. With more than 25 years of experience in the arts, education, and nonprofit sectors, she leads institutional efforts to build equity, belonging, and inclusive community. Her work is grounded in human-centered leadership, cultural responsiveness, and social justice. 

Before joining Lake Forest, Dr. Davis served as Senior Director of Education at the Old Town School of Folk Music and founded Five/6teen Consulting, a firm focused on empowerment coaching and equity-driven transformation. She holds an EdD in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University and is a certified coach in life, leadership, and executive coaching. Her scholarship and practice center the experiences of Black women in leadership, and she is committed to fostering healing, connection, and collective care across campus communities.

Alice Fermaintt (she/her/hers) serves as the Associate Director for the Center of Community, Advocacy, Resources, and Empowerment (CARE). In this role, she provides support for empowerment groups/identity-based organizations, develops inclusive programming that fosters a culture of belonging, support, and community, and leads the First Connection pre-orientation program.  Alice earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master’s degree in the Cultural Foundations of Education from Kent State University.  Alice is also a proud member of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated.
