Ant Ecology Lab Manager
Lake Forest College invites applications for the full-time role of Ant Ecology Lab Manager. The Lab Manager will assist in conducting research in the Ant Ecology Lab.
Qualifications
- Experienced in ant taxonomy with proficiency in conducting field based ecological research including pitfall trapping, baiting, and behavioral observations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Capable of summarizing large datasets and presenting those findings with written and verbal formats.
- Good at working as part of a team and organizing people to achieve a common goal.
Responsibilities
- Will be conducting independent field work and needs to be able to make decisions about when to visit different locations based on weather conditions.
- Working outside in all weather conditions requires the ability to hike in forests off trails.
- Supervision of undergraduate students.
- Manage laboratory inventory.
- Field and lab-based research tasks.
Requirements
- Must have an undergraduate degree with at least two years of experience working in ant field ecology.
Salary and Benefits
Hourly rate of pay $20.00
