Temporary Administrative Assistant - Athletics (Part Time)

Lake Forest College, located just north of Chicago, invites applications for the temporary part-time position of Athletics Administrative Assistant. This 20-hour per week role provides a comprehensive opportunity for an individual looking to immerse themselves in the administrative support of the athletics department in order to ensure the smooth operations of the Forester Athletics department. The position requires in person availability beginning at 8am, Monday-Friday. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within the department, supporting the mission, goals, and procedures of the department and the College.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide executive administrative support to the Director of Athletics, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and organizing travel.
  • Handle daily administrative tasks within the athletics department, including responding to emails, answering phones, and welcoming visitors.
  • Assist in basic invoice paying and reconciliation. 
  • Ensure smooth office operations by assisting in the management of all operational aspects of the athletics office, including collaborating with other departments within the College to provide necessary resources and support for coaches and staff.
  • Assist in planning and executing athletics department events and contests.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain accurate and confidential records and reports to assist in the day-to-day management of the athletics operations.
  • Support the hiring processes for the department, including scheduling interviews and assisting with onboarding and offboarding.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s Degree is required, a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities while maintaining an efficient task accomplishment. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with budgets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.

Salary and Benefits:
Hourly Rate $20.00 - $23.00
