Assistant Director of Community Engagement
This multifaceted position reports to the Vice President for Career Advancement and Community Engagement at Lake Forest College. The person in this role will be a key contributor to the success of the College’s community engagement efforts and will work collaboratively and cooperatively with the Community Engagement team, the Office of Advancement, the Office of Marketing and Communications, and a variety of other departments across campus. This position coordinates projects and events, manages data, and supports outreach efforts that engages both internal and external campus and community stakeholders. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to connect campus stakeholders. The nature of this full-time position will include evening and/or weekend work.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with local organizations, agencies, and campus stakeholders to create meaningful community engagement opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between the College and external partners, facilitating collaborations and representing the college at community events.
- Assist with the development, implementation, leadership, and assessment of community engagement initiatives connecting students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
- Manage events that highlight and foster community partnerships and ensure related marketing and promotions.
- Research and compile information, reports, and data to support decision-making as it relates to the areas mentioned above.
- Maintain accurate and timely data entry within Slate CRM, including tracking engagement, event participation, and outreach.
- Prepare content and ensure timely Community Engagement website updates
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience is required. 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in community engagement, partnership management, and/or program leadership in higher education, nonprofit sectors, or related fields is preferred. Candidates must possess excellent communication, project management, and planning skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, including mail merge) and be comfortable learning new software, working with data, CRM systems, and various social media platforms. Experience with preparing program plans, reports, agendas, and presentations with accuracy and attention to detail is essential. Must be committed to Lake Forest College’s values.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $50,000 -$55,000 pending experience.
