Renowned Erhu musician visits Professor Ying Wu’s two classes this September

The renowned young Erhu musician—Ting Li visited Professor Ying Wu’s two classes on September 16, to introduce Erhu.
The erhu, a two-stringed bowed musical instrument originated in northern China more than 1,000 years ago, also known as the eastern violin. Ting has won numerous international and national competitions. In 2008, she performed at the Beijing Olympic Games closing ceremony. She introduced Erhu, performed major Erhu music pieces in two classes. Around 50 students, faculty and staff came to the talk and performance and were very impressed. Her visit helped students and the community to understand Chinese culture by understanding expression and passion of the Erhu.
