Michael H. Ebner is the James D. Vail III Professor of History Emeritus.
In an illustrated lecture on May 21 titled “Winnetka and the Worlds of Henry Demarest Lloyd,” Ebner discussed Lloyd’s reform pursuits in New York City, his controversial role in Chicago, his role in shaping participatory democracy in Winnetka, and his enduring international influence as the author of the widely read Wealth Against Commonwealth (1888).
