Lebanese author and activist, Dr. Evelyne Accad, spent time with students this September.

Dr. Accad, Professor of French, Middle Eastern, African and Women’s Studies, visited French, English, Women’s and Gender Studies, Arabic and First-Year Studies classes this September, in addition to presenting and discussion the Lebanese film, “Under the Bombs” (dir. Aractingi, 2007) on the 2006 war in Lebanon, as well as current conflicts in the Middle East. Photos were taken in Professor Cynthia Hahn’s FREN330: French-Speaking World class, in which students read the novel, Coquelicot du massacre/Poppy From the Massacre (Trans. Hahn, Paris: L’Harmattan, 2006) on the Lebanese civil war.
