David F. Gorter ’80

David is an entrepreneur and visionary investor with over 25 years of hand-on experience in service industry ownership and management.  After graduating from Lake Forest College in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in history, he founded SSU Corporation, a diversified homeowner and commercial maintenance service company, which he still runs today. Additionally, he is President of DK Organics LLC, an organics recycling business as well as President of 4Medapproved.com, the most comprehensive online resource specializing in Health Information Technology, especially as it pertains to Electronic Health Records (EHR), Health Information Exchange (HIE), HIPPA compliance/security and HIT/EHR education. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the College, and he is on the Board of Directors of North Chicago Community Partners.  He is a member of the Advisory Council of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and a past member of the Board of the Lake Forest Country Day School.
