Hahn to be keynote speaker at top French-speaking book fair

Professor of French Cynthia Hahn will travel to Canada February 26-28 as the keynote speaker at one of the largest Francophone books fairs in the world.
Hahn will present her latest book of bilingual poetry, Co-ïncidences (Paris: alfAbarre, 2014), and participate in a panel on translation at the Salon du Livre de L’Ouataouis, a French-speaking book fair expected to draw 35,000 attendees.
As part of this important literary week in Quebec, Hahn will give a 45-minute talk at the University of Ottawa on writing poetry and self-translation in the context of her latest book, teach a graduate class on her writing and writing influences at the University of Quebec, and give a 30-minute interview on Radio-Canada on her writing.
Hahn’s invitation to Quebec is the result of an international exchange. Four Quebec writers and artists came to Lake Forest College last fall at her invitation for a week of classes, performances, and workshops on campus.
