Bob Dold hosts question-and-answer session

On September 8, Republican Party’s candidate for the 10th Congressional District of Illinois Bob Dold hosted a question-and-answer session with students.
Dold represented the 10th District in the House of Representatives for one term (2011-12). A self-described fiscal conservative and social moderate, Dold underscored the importance of reform legislation to encourage job creation.
Dold visited campus at the invitation of the Department of Politics. The department is committed to educating students, faculty, and staff about the candidates for this fall’s Congressional election in the 10th District. The incumbent, Rep. Brad Schneider, has also been invited to speak and hopes to be on campus soon.
A microcosm of the United States, the 10th District features only one of a handful of competitive House races, and both Dold and his Democratic rival, the incumbent Rep. Brad Schneider, are running neck-and-neck in recent polling.
