December 06, 2011

Lake Forest College’s Relay For Life was awarded the American Cancer Society’s prestigious Top Net Income Growth and All-Star Awards at the Society’s recent Relay Leadership Summit in Itasca, Ill.

With the Top Net Income Growth Award, the Illinois Division of the American Cancer Society honors Relay events with the highest percentage of income growth compared to other colleges in Illinois. The Relay All Star Award recognizes events that achieve significant fundraising and participant growth. Relay For Life of Lake Forest College achieved an increase of more than $12,000 this year.

“By supporting Relay For Life of Lake Forest College, our volunteers are helping us save more lives faster,” said Mary E. Pierce, chairman of the board of the American Cancer Society’s Illinois Division. “We invite all Lake Forest College students to join us in fighting for every birthday threatened by cancer at this year’s Relay.”
