Josh Bill ’04 a “Hero in the Classroom”

The history and education graduate, who won the 2012 History Teacher of the Year award, is included in a new book, American Teacher: Heroes in the Classroom, by Katrina Fried. It’s a collection of fifty stories of “extraordinary educators whose creative and unconventional methods are transforming the lives and futures of their students.”
“For almost as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a teacher. I remember getting a kick out of stories my teachers told and their dedication to making us better. These individuals not only made a difference in my life, but they fostered my initial thoughts of wanting to become a teacher. They made teaching seem fun, and I respect them all the more than that, for with the long hours this job demands, a teacher who makes what they are doing fun is achieving so much more.” – Josh Bill
