Honoring faculty with annual gift
Richard Baynes '08 gives back to Lake Forest every year in honor of faculty.
Giving to Lake Forest College in honor of faculty is something Richard Baynes ’08 has done annually since he graduated.
“I make it a priority,” the economics major and communications minor said.
Baynes gives every year to honor the professors who helped him manage his studies, an independent research course, an internship, and athletics. Ultimately, he graduated cum laude.
“I think back on the close relationships I had with the faculty and the lasting impact they have had on my career and life,” he said. “I believe there are few universities that can offer the one-on-one interactions with faculty and none that can offer them with the quality of professors that you find at Lake Forest College.”
The Lake Forest College Annual Fund supports instruction, academic support, research, and is crucial in retaining and attracting the best and brightest faculty members from around the globe to become a part of our Lake Forest community.
Baynes urges his fellow classmates to join him in giving back.
“I think about the greater influence our alumni could have on the college. If each alumnus were to buy Lake Forest College just one imaginary cup of coffee a week for a whole year, that would be two hundred and eight dollars per alumnus! That is significant, and I want to be a part of that influence.”
