First Nebraska alumni event a hit
Nebraskan Foresters and their guests attended the first alumni event in their area in full force.
The first alumni gathering in Nebraska drew more than a twenty Foresters in February, a surprising showing for a state that rarely pops up on the incoming students’ hometown list.
Alumni, their guests, and others caught up over drinks and appetizers at Upstream Brewing Company in Lincoln on February 28 in the evening event hosted by Kelly Gering ’97. Nebraska State Sen. Rick Kolowski ’66 was among the group of Lincoln-area Foresters who attended.
Even though none of the 10 regional Forester alumni networks currently includes Nebraska, Assistant Director of Alumni and Community Engagement Chris Way ’14 was confident the event in his home state would draw a crowd.
“The community-at-large in Nebraska is very loyal,” Way said. “When someone registers to do something, they follow through with it.”
The 10 regional Forester alumni networks are: Atlanta, Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New York, Phoenix, Seattle, St. Louis, Twin Cities, and Washington, D.C.
