The revamped Stentor student newspaper has proved so popular, editors are printing more copies to meet reader demand.

In its second issue under a new banner logo and format, the Stentor print run will hit the 1,200 mark—200 more than were printed for its debut issue on February 10 and well above the 500 copies printed last semester.

In February, circulation doubled with editors hand-delivering 1,000 copies to every dorm room on campus and filling branded newsstands located in key traffic areas. By the end of the month, the newsstands stood empty.

To avoid disappointing readers, Editor in Chief Jessica Chang upped the press run for the 16-page March 3 issue.

“Readership has exploded this semester because of our refocused effort on giving students what they want to read,” Chang said. “A college newspaper serves as the students’ voice on campus, and now, we’ve proven to our readership that the Stentor can fulfill that purpose.”

Students interested in writing articles or selling ads for the two remaining issues of Stentor this semester, scheduled for April 1 and 24, should email editor@lakeforest.edu for details. Student writers will receive $10 per published article and a 10 percent commission per ad sold.
