Day of Service brings Foresters to North Chicago schools for lessons on healthy living, fun
William Dlugokienski kicks off the Day of Service. The College logged nearly 2,400 hours of community service in one day.
Nearly 400 members of the Lake Forest College community volunteered their time on Saturday, March 2 at four North Chicago elementary schools.
The day’s activities surrounded Dr. Seuss’s book Oh, the Things You Can Do That Are Good for You. Each Forester was buddied with a North Chicago student; together, they completed games and projects related to healthy living.
While most learned about nutrition and exercise with their buddies, other Foresters helped to set up a mobile food pantry at one of the four sites to serve the community.
