But the biggest surprise came when 30 admissions and college counseling friends traveled across the country to present Spike with a check for $36,900, which they raised from fellow colleagues, to endow a prize at Lake Forest College in Spike’s honor. 

The College is also raising funds to establish a $2 million endowment to pay tribute to Spike. Thus far, nearly $800,000 has been raised. For more information, click here.
