Nearly a quarter of the Lake Forest College student population doubles as athletes, balancing their time among competitive academics, competitive athletics, and campus community service. National Division III Week is a time to recognize student-athletes who work to uphold this Forester Tradition of Excellence.
“We take great pride in our student-athletes and I continue to be impressed by how well they meet our athletic programming goals. Their commitment and dedication is incredible and I am happy there is a week that recognizes all that they do and bring to our campus and community,” Athletic Director Jackie Slaats said.
Athletics opened the week with a kick-off event in the Mohr Student Center on Monday, April 8, and will be distributing “Proud to be DIII” buttons every day during lunch. Other days honor the fans, or the Forester Fanatics, and the many community outreach efforts teams participate in each year.
The following a video of Lake Forest College faculty and staff members who played Division III sports. It was shown during the kick-off event.
