Past president of Lake Forest’s Hillel student organization, Daniel Rosenstein `12, was featured in an article about how technology is allowing student groups to build bigger, better communities.
The Jewish United Fund’s article, “Student leaders build community one text message at a time,”refers to Lake Forest College’s Jewish student organization as a leading example of how students are using technology like social media and text messages to bring together communities like never before.
The article says, “‘For my generation, technology is how we network. We turn to our phones, our Twitter accounts and our blogs; that’s how we communicate our identities to each other,’ explained Rosenstein. Last year, when Rosenstein became Lake Forest Hillel’s President, he and a small group of involved students were able to get official university recognition and develop an active Hillel group, primarily through social media.”
