Supplemental Instruction (SI) is also provided by the QRC for MATH 110.
SI sessions are structured, collaborative learning sessions facilitated by peer leaders that are offered multiple times a week to all students in a given course. They focus on “what to learn” (that week’s most difficult and most essential content) and “how to learn” (the skills and approaches to learning that yield the best results). Course GPA by SI attendance
The data (shown below) that we have collected over the last several semesters show that students' SI session attendance is positively correlated with their course GPA (their grades for a given course) -- that is, on average, students tend to perform better in the course the more SI sessions they attend!
