What drew you to Lake Forest College?
I came to Lake Forest College because of the immediate connections I made with professors. While considering where to transfer, I distinctly recall having several people from Lake Forest College call me and that made my decision all that much easier. The connections Lake Forest College has with Rosalind Franklin University School of Medicine and Science, and those to come, was one that really stood out to me, and just this past summer I was able to do research at RFUMS!

Have you had experiences here—besides your classes—that have helped prepare you for your future?
Most definitely! In all positions that I have taken at this college I have flourished skills that are transferable to all facets of my life. Being a Resident Assistant really helped me discover what strengths and weakness I have through critical thinking. However, that is just one example! Working alongside other wonderful Foresters in Dr. Kelley’s Cognitive Lab and incredibly knowledgeable professor, Dr. Kelley, has been an honor and I was able to embark on this journey as early as my second year at Lake Forest College!

How are you handling the sudden change and transition to online learning?
I am approaching it with an optimistic mindset. In a time of uncertainty, I am doing my best to still have structure and continue my mindset of personal best.

What do you do in your free time (before the COVID-19 pandemic)?
In my free time I enjoy working out, watching vlogs and, of course, watching Grey’s Anatomy.

What are your plans after graduation?
I plan on going to medical school and one day practicing medicine in underserved communities.

Any advice for new Foresters?
Change is not always bad. Be open to healthy change! Also, it is okay to not have it all figured out coming in. Believe me, you are at the right place with the right people to slowly figure out what is best for you. Finally, you most definitely deserve to be here!

What has been your favorite memory at Lake Forest College?
My favorite memory at Lake Forest College is traveling to Canada to Psychonomic Society as part of my research lab.

Parting words?
Good luck in all your future endeavors!
