Omicron Delta Kappa inducts 23 campus leaders to honor society

The Lake Forest College Chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, inducted 23 new members—the largest number of initiates inducted in a single year at the College.

With only 317 circles nationwide, this prestigious organization recognizes junior and senior year student leaders who have excelled both odk crestacademically and within campus life. Initiates receive the Laurel Crown Circle, the honor society’s symbol of achievement, upon their introduction.   

Diayan Rajamohan ’21, president of the Lake Forest chapter, gave the invocation at the 2021 induction ceremony held virtually on May 3. Megan Crapo ’21, programming chair, gave the benediction.

Seniors

  • Lindsey Contreras: Latinos Unidos treasurer; Lois Hall Student Government Senator; Groner Foundation recipient
  • Mishel Goldina: American Marketing Association vice president for marketing; Sigma Tau Delta; Omicron Delta Epsilon; Presidential Scholarship recipient
  • Alden O’Connor: Campus Sustainability Committee student representative; League for the Environmental Awareness and Protection (LEAP) secretery; men’s rugby club athlete
  • Emma Overton: Editor-in-chief and news editor of the Stentor; Campus Sustainability Committee student member; Pi Sigma Alpha
  • Nicole Schussler: Softball athlete and team captain; Fellowship of Christian Athletes secretary; softball representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

The ODK honor society was founded in 1914 at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. The organization was formed to honor students who attain a high standard of collegiate activities. The Lake Forest College chapter was officially charted on April 27, 2014.
