How did you choose your area of study?

Prior to arriving at Lake Forest, I had no idea that I would choose Neuroscience as a major. I have always been interested in exploring multiple fields of inquiry and the Neuroscience major  combines the aspects of many fields that I find intriguing. It was really after taking BIOL 130: Deadly Shapes and Hostage Brains and learning about how the principles of molecular biology can be understood and how they relate t ohuman disease that I finally decided that this was the major right for me Three years later, after about a dozen classes, and three years of summer research with Dr. D, I feel comfortable with and still love learning anything about the brain or its diseases. Overall, the neuroscience program here has solidified my love the pursuit of knowledge and will definitely help me a future career in research.
