Devon C. Bruce
Devon Bruce is a partner in the law firm, Power, Rogers and Smith. As a trial attorney, Mr. Bruce has obtained record results for his clients, including the largest medical malpractice settlement in the history of the state of Illinois and the largest recovery for a municipality in an accounting/banking malpractice case for the city of Dixon, Illinois. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Bruce has served on a number of civic, charitable, and corporate boards. He currently serves on the Navy Pier board, the Ireland Fund board, the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago board, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association board, and several corporate boards in the areas of food manufacturing, construction equipment and chemical distribution. He has also previously served on the University of Illinois board of trustees (2003-2009), the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority board (2009-2010), and the Illinois State Board of Investment (2010-2016) where he was chairman when the State Board of Investment managed over fifteen billion dollars in state pension funds. Mr. Bruce has had experience with early stage and venture capital placements. In 2015, he was involved in one of the largest technology company sales in the Chicagoland area. Mr. Bruce graduated from the University of Illinois in 1990 and from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1993. He resides in Lake Forest, IL with his wife, Yvonne, and children, Cormac, Aoife, Ciaran and Niamh.
