How did you choose your area of study?
As a first generation college student, I wanted to get the most out of my education. I wanted to learn all that I could about the world, about people, and about life. I thought that I could do that through the neuroscience. Being a neuroscience major allows the unique opportunity to understand both natural and social science in the most comprehensive way. And as a huge sci-fi nerd, I was curious about the exceptional power of the human mind. It is truly amazing what our brains can do from remember assignment deadlines to generating fantastical images while we sleep. The processes interest me to no end. I plan to get obtain my PhD in neuroscience as my next academic endeavor, and dedicate myself to research.
