Jennifer Shylanski ’18
“I contribute to the Science Facility because I see it as making a further investment in the value of the degree for our son. Science is an area where there is a lot of interest, so it’s important to have a 21st-century facility to continue to attract students.”
Jennifer Shylanski was first introduced to Lake Forest College when her son, Luke ’18, began his college search.
“We visited the campus after he was accepted, and were very impressed with the faculty and the commitment to students,” she said.
These, among many other of the College’s attributes, contributed to Luke’s decision to attend Lake Forest College.
Knowing the benefits a Lake Forest College education will have for her son, Jennifer recognizes that the tuition costs are necessary to providing that education. She expressed that in addition to these costs, she is always willing to contribute a little extra.
“We can give a little more, so we do,” she said. “I see it as making a further investment in the value of the degree for our son.”
She and her husband, Mark, are now active members of the Parent’s Council and continue to be involved with Lake Forest College in a number of ways.
“Something I always say about Lake Forest College is that it’s been a great experience for our son,” Jennifer said. “It’s always been there for him through his successes and a couple of stumbles, so we’re always happy to take that extra step to support the College.”
