“As a Richter scholar, I was able to work hands-on with my biology professor doing research. It was a great opportunity that you can’t easily get at a large university as an undergraduate. By conducting research, you gain knowledge, learn skills, and practice different techniques you really can’t get in the classroom.

Working on research, you’re harnessing all the knowledge you’ve learned in classes and applying it to a real-life project. You can actually see when you’re making real progress and finally obtaining results. That’s really rewarding.”
