Why are you supporting Access: The Campaign for Lake Forest College?
Lake Forest College is an excellent school and it deserves our support. Anybody who feels strongly about liberal arts education—certainly those of us who went there—should support the College. Everyone has at least one very strong, positive memory of their time at Lake Forest. Maybe it was a roommate they grew particularly close to, or a professor who was particularly influential, or a club or organization that broadened their horizons. It’s appropriate to give back and give others the opportunity to have those kind of experiences.
Why is the renovation and expansion of the Science Center important to the future of the College?
We have more and more students interested in the sciences, yet the current Science Center isn’t substantially different than when I was at the College back in the 1960s. The new facility will attract a lot of quality students and will support our faculty, which is superb. A better facility will better support faculty research, their teaching, and the overall experience for students.
