Leaving high school, I knew I wanted a challenging major in college. I also wanted a diverse major, one where I could take a broad span of science classes. The interdisciplinary neuroscience major has provided me both of these things. I have learned to approach problems from both a biological and psychological viewpoint, knowing that sometimes the best research uses both. My classes have given me experience working with others on research projects and poster presentations. Both of which will be useful in any career field. I am also a math major, and plan on integrating my two majors to pursue computational biology/biostatistics and public health.
